The Medtral medical tourism process
Your Medtral International Patient Coordinator will guide you through the entire process. From your diagnostic tests, to travel arrangements, meeting you at the airport and arranging follow up care at home, we have thought of everything, so you don't have to worry about a thing.
Once you have contacted us and completed your medical evaluation: we will send you the list of diagnostic tests (blood tests, radiological tests such as x-rays and CT scans, or other laboratory tests) you need to have in your own country, in order to have the planned operation in New Zealand.
If you need help getting affordable diagnostic tests in the USA contact us. We have access to US based providers at very reasonable rates.
We arrange for appropriate medical specialists in New Zealand to review your medical evaluation form and diagnostic test results. You may also like to communicate directly with the surgeon and ask any questions you may have.
Once this is complete and we have discussed your accommodation and travel preferences, we can then prepare a quote for the expected cost of your entire travel and medical treatment abroad.
When you arrive in New Zealand you will be met at the airport and transferred to your chosen accommodation. Your Medtral Medical Tourism Patient Coordinator will be on hand to assist you at every step, and is never more than a phone call away. You will visit your surgeon who will explain the entire procedure to you and answer any concerns you may have.
On the day of your surgery your surgeon will visit you before your operation and you will meet your anesthetist. You will be looked after well throughout your hospital stay by our friendly, professional and extremely caring nurses and aftercare professionals. After your operation your surgeon will check on you regularly until you are ready to be discharged.
The care does not stop once you are discharged. Your Medtral Medical Tourism Patient Coordinator will arrange for post-operative nursing care and physical therapy in your hotel room. If you need extra assistance we will also arrange home care assistants to help you with shopping, dressing, meals or just a friendly face. Whatever you need... we have it covered!
Before you return home you will visit your surgeon again who will confirm that you are fit and well and ready to return home. They will explain any aftercare arrangements you will need at home and your Medtral Medical Tourism Patient Coordinator will assist you with arranging this.
Even once you return home your surgeon will maintain follow up care. Your Medtral Medical Tourism Patient Coordinator will have already ensured that your local doctor has all of your surgical information and will contact you regularly to ensure that all is going well. Your Medtral journey will have come to an end, but our care continues...
